Jon Ruben was detained after eight youngsters and a grown-up became sick at Stathern Lodge in July.
The elderly man, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to a total of 17 charges when he was present at Leicester Crown Court on recently.

'Sweet game'
The legal representative, prosecuting, described the criminal behavior to the judicial body.
She explained his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were participating in a summer camp which he operated.
Ruben conducted a "treat game" with the youngsters, the legal counsel explained, in which he would enter the children's bedrooms when they were settling down and request they to ingest treats "as fast as possible".
She told the court the defendant had played this game with the young males "for many years", and minors had previously fallen ill the next day.
She said the man had been capable of justifying this over a long period as the children being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepson had suspicions in recently.
Mrs Prior KC added: "Recently" his family member had concerns about the activities, justifiably.
"They resolved" to examine in the defendant's belongings."
The prosecutor said items including infant oil, ointment and medical needles were located, and his stepson notified the law enforcement about his concerns.
She stated Ruben proceeded to engage in the "candy game" with six boys that time - Saturday 26 July - and they were everyone unwell the following morning.
"Law enforcement" had not responded by that time," she continued.
The oversight body, the police conduct office, had stated that it was reviewing the police response of the events.
Mrs Prior explained the minors were struggling to walk due to their sickness, so the stepson notified the authorities once more.
She stated the defendant then engaged in the "sweet game" in a room of five children.
